On 5/22/18 a Sales Rep for Hawx comes to the house and tells me all the nice things they would do for my lawn. He said that they will do over-seeding to get grass growing in bare areas such as shady areas, fertilization, *** control and pest control for the very low price of $75/visit.

This seemed like an extremely good deal as I have a very large lawn in the front and back (5-6000 SF) with numerous problem areas. The appointment was set for 4/24/18 at 1000. I was waiting and looking for the rep as I wanted to ask him questions but to my knowledge, he never came - no door bell ring, no phone call, no message on door. Then at 1130 I got an invoice on my computer from the rep saying he had been there and fertilized and not to water the lawn for 48 hours.

I immediately went outside to check my lawn and there was no evidence that the technician was there - no wetness, no granules. no discoloration , no seed etc. In addition, there is no way he could have gone into the back yard without me noticing him as I was sitting at the kitchen table waiting and it looks out on the back year. So, I called the office and complained and they were very apologetic and made offers to send another rep at no charge, I told them I was very upset and did not want them to come and wanted out of the contract as I could not trust them.

They agreed to cancel my contract. Today, 5/31/18 I got another bill for that visit. I called them again and they said that the GPS tracker showed the tech had been at my house they would have to charge me - they did offer to "meet me half way" on the bill. So, last week they were willing to send another tech at no charge but they are now saying that the tech was here and they would have to charge me for the chemicals used.

They stated the tech couldn't get a hold of me on his visit - maybe he does not know how to use a doorbell. So, I now have an outstanding bill for a service that was never done or at best was done half-way (never in the back yard) with chemicals that don't leave a trace and a week later haven't improved my lawn.

The situation you described about Hawx โ€œlawn serviceโ€ is spot on. I have an approximately 10,000 sq ft lawn and I only saw him make one pass in my backyard; nowhere else.

And he was here about 3 minutes. Impossible to do the job in that little time.
