A so called Account Manager came to our door and flat out lied regarding what Hawx Pest Control provides to their customers and their policies on cancelation. They are only interested in getting a signature so they can charge you with a cancelation fee if you are not happy with their service and wish to cancel.

A tech showed up at my door on June 23, said she was there to do the quarterly spray. No appointment had been scheduled. She was at my home less than 5 minutes and supposedly sprayed the entire parameter of my house. I had to unlock my backyard gate, which I did.

I went straight back into my house and walked into my living room and the tech and her van was no longer in my drive way. No Way! She had to of sprinted with the spray gun in a dead run! It took no more than one minute for me to walk from my kitchen to my living room.

I called Hawx Pest Control and complained, I requested to cancel their services and the first thing the billing rep said was "we have a signature". Then I knew what their business is about, it is about money. This specific rep said she would credit the $109.00 charge put to my credit card and send a bill to us for $225.00. I know the $225.00 was not being charged to my credit card because I will dispute the charge.

Since the $109.00 had not yet been credited from my credit card as I was told it would be, I called Hawx today, I was told they will not credit the $109.00 and intend to also charge the $225.00. I told them to go back and listen to the taped conversation because I was told that amount would be credited. Well, She lied! I asked for the name of the president, CEO or whom ever is in charge of this company.

I was told the owner does not take calls and they could not refer me to anyone else. I am confident there is someone in the US who manages these companies and this business needs to be investigated.

They take advantage of people, lie to people and then do not compensate the customer other than saying you owe fees. Something needs to be done.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $334.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Hawx Pest Control Cons: Pest control contract scam, Ridiculous charges for substandard service.

SCAM. I just had the same issue.

I signed something whereby i was told was to come back on Monday (it was Friday) and talk to me more about the service. (My fault for not reading, but i had kids and the dog demanding my attention, and had to get rid of him quickly - i took the door to door rep on is word.) I explicitly told him i did not want a quarterly spray but would be interested in a single spray. They never came back and discussed anything with me. I got a bill 60 days later that said they applied two sprays, and never came into my house to spray!

I didn't even know they came...I called customer service and let them know what happened and said i would pay the bill as was, but didn't want the additional services. He stated that if i cancelled they would ask for more money (they gave me a supposed discount for signing up at the door) where they would revoke the discount for services rendered and would owe full price. I stated i never wanted the service and to waive the "upcharge" as that's not what was discussed with his salesman. He stated over and over that he had a signed contract and refused to compromise with me over his salesman's miscommunication.

He also proceeded to tell me that he gets at least a call a day from people that have a similar issue and that it's customer's issue for signing a contract they didn't read. True to a point, but clearly this issue of sign and run, underperform, and collect at all cost is the shadiest way to do business.

Poor service, poor customer service. SCAM.

I have been scammed as well. This company came out after 3 days in on my contract (so there was no way to cancel without being charged) They did not complete the service.

Contact the Better Business Bureau. I notice on a lot of the comments on their thread the company cancelled the contract and refunded money.

They're service is terrible. They're high priced too.

Actually, we're called Route Managers. And I'm guessing this isn't the whole story. This page literally is only companies who had bad experiences, but Hawx wouldn't have 200% growth each year and 13 locations if it wasn't for a large pool of HAPPY and LOYAL customers.

Not true at all. You can expand on a premise of providing good service in an area where there is clearly a lot of need.

If there wasn't a lot of shady activity, you wouldn't have this many people wasting there time posting what a scam company this is.

Too coincidental for this many people to have the same poor customer service. Just because they sign your paycheck doesn't mean you don't work for a *** underhanded operation.
